OPP have released a little more detail after a person was hit by a train on the CN tracks just east of Wyman’s Road in Tyendinaga Township.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident which occurred around 3:30 yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon.
OPP say the person was from the Kingston area. Foul play is not suspected in the death.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call Lennox and Addington OPP.
The incident occurred in the area near where Tyendinaga Mohawk and others have been protesting a natural gas line being through a BC First Nation’s territory.
It’s not known if the incident was connected to the protest camp.
