The owner of a local travel agency says his staff is working around the clock to support customers in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Scott Stewart owns the Carlson-Wagonlit office in Belleville and close to a dozen others across the province and says his 105 travel agents, including the eight here in Belleville, are doing as much as they can to help their clients.
He adds that the situation has put immense pressure on his staff.
And as much as the goal is to accommodate people’s future travel plans and bring people home who are currently abroad, Stewart says they also have to educate those travellers on what to expect when they return to Canada.
Stewart calls this an unprecedented time for the travel industry and says his agents are working closely with travel providers to resolve whatever issues their clients may be facing right now.
