There isn’t a shortage of toilet paper according to the CEO of Kruger Products.
Dino Bianco told Quinte News on Friday afternoon their seven facilities are working overtime to actually catch up to the demand.
Bianco says they began seeing the demand a couple of weeks ago when people were told to start self-quarantining.
He says what he thinks happened is people began buying a few extra packages in advance and then shelves became empty simply because toilet paper is a bulky item and the empty shelves caused concern in people causing the increase in demand.
Bianco says along with toilet paper, there is also an increased demand for paper towels and facial tissues.
He told Quinte News he expects we will see a rebound eventually, days, weeks or months, when people will have closets full of toilet paper.
Bianco notes that the Trenton Kruger paper plant says there are 160 people working there and that that factory supplies North America with products for hotels, stadiums and arenas.
