With heightened precautions resulting from the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the public’s cooperation is being sought to reduce the potential risks to patients by restricting the number of visitors to Quinte Health Care’s four hospitals – Belleville General Hospital, North Hastings Hospital, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and Trenton Memorial Hospital.
While additional measures may be necessary in the coming days – effective immediately, visits should be limited to one visitor per patient. Allowances will be made based on compassionate grounds depending on the circumstances.
Please note: Visitors who are feeling unwell; have an infection; have symptoms of respiratory illness, symptoms of flu-like illnesses or symptoms of other communicable diseases should not visit. In certain cases, visitors will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to support a safe environment for patients who may have a contagious condition. Visitors must perform hand hygiene with soap and water or alcohol based hand rub before and after visiting a patient. Also, staff may need to ask patients to leave for infection control reasons so it is asked that visitors respect that request during this time.
