The Belleville Senators season is on hold.
Following the lead of the National Hockey League and other major sports organizations the American Hockey League has suspended the rest of the 2019-2020 season until further notice. .
Belleville players were briefed earlier yesterday afternoon in advance of the official announcement from the AHL.
Belleville Senators head coach Troy Mann says players will remain in the area until further notice. This is the same protocal being followed by the rest of the AHL and the NHL. In the meantime teams will not hold practices or have meetings.
The B-Sens have 13 games remaining in the regular season and are well positioned to make the AHL playoffs for the first time in their three year history. Belleville is in first place in the North Division 6 points ahead of the second place Rochester Americans.

A release from the National Hockey League says it is their intention to resume play as soon as it is appropriate and prudent. It is expected the AHL will do so as well.
