The Belleville Police responded to 84 calls for service between February 24, 2020 at 5 a.m. and February 25, 2020 at 5 a.m.
Stolen Vehicle
On February 24, 2020 at 8:30 a.m., officers received a call in regards to a stolen vehicle from Stirling. At 4 p.m., officers located the vehicle at a building on Moira Street West. Officers observed a male get into the vehicle and he was quickly arrested. A search of the male located a small quantity of narcotics as well as a replica handgun. A 38-year-old male from Belleville was charged with four counts of breaching his undertaking and two counts of possession of narcotics. He was held for a bail hearing on February 25, 2020.
Arrest on Warrants
On February 24, 2020 at 9 p.m., an officer was on general patrol on Moira Street West. He observed a male on a bike riding down the road with no rear light. The officer stopped the male and spoke to him. A check of the male indicated that he had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to attend for court and fingerprints. Thirty-seven-year-old Michael White of Belleville was arrested and held for a bail hearing on February 25.
Break and Enter
On February 24, 2020 at 2:50 p.m., an officer attended an address on Bridge Street West in regards to a break and enter. Upon arrival, the officer received information from the homeowner that they had left for a short period of time, and when they returned they noticed that there was some property taken.
