Ontario Masters Weightlifting Competition was held in St. Thomas over the weekend. Six Apollo Barbell Members competed. Apollo earned 4 Gold and 2 Silver.
Bob Walt in the men’s age 70-96 kilo class won gold and broke three Canadian Masters Weightlifting Records, snatching 61 kilos and Clean and Jerk of 76 kilos. He also qualified for the World Masters
Meredith Stranges won Gold Women’s age 50-71 kilo class … Snatch Lift 52 kilos Clean and Jerk 63 kilos. Stranges also broke three Ontario Masters records and three Canadian Masters Weightlifting records. She also qualified for the World Masters
Cory Walt won Gold age 45-67 kilo class, 65 kilo Snatch lift, and 85 kilo Clean and Jerk.
Pamela Davidson won Gold age 40-55 kilo class, Snatch lift 44 kilo Clean and Jerk 64 kilos. She qualified for the World Masters.
Helga Bastiaan won the Silver age 45-71 kilo class with a Snatch lift 48 kilos & Clean and Jerk 58 kilos. She qualified for the World Masters.
Nick Stranges won Silver age 50-89 kilo class Snatch lift 60 kilos and Clean & Jerk 76 kilos.
The World Masters Weightlifting Competition will be held in Orlando-August 28.
