It’s time for playoff hockey in the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
The Wellington Dukes finished up the regular season Saturday night with a 5-2 win on home ice over the Markham Royals.
After falling behind 2-0 early, the Dukes responded with five unanswered goals to close out the game.
Jake Gagnon lead the charge with two goals and an assist, including his 30th goal of the season. Ben Woodhouse and Jacob Breckles each added a goal and an assist while Noah Massie scored the other Duke goal.
Matt Keeley made 21 saves in the net.
The Dukes clinched first place in the east division on Friday night over Trenton. Wellington also secured the top seed in the entire OJHL, finishing the season 43-9-2-0 with 88 points.
They will take on the Cobourg Cougars in the first round of the Buckland Cup playoffs.
