Four residents of Quinte West were recognized by council on Tuesday for their artistic work in photographing the beauty of the city.
Awards were handed out for prize winners in the 2019 Quinte West Photo Contest on Tuesday, with Mark Hopper’s photo of a sunset on the Murray Canal taking home the top prize.
Ruby Candler came in second with a photo of a proud pair of alpacas, Cory Alkenbrack also highlighted the sunset along the Murray Canal in her third place photo and Tim Morris’ shot of ice fishermen on the Bay of Quinte received an honourable mention.
Community Engagement Officer Hannah Brown says hundreds of photos were entered into the contest and a panel of judges, including staff at City Hall made the final decisions.
