The City of Belleville is opening the warming centre tonight and tomorrow night ahead of some frigid temperatures.
The Victoria Avenue Baptist Church will be open tonight at 8 p.m. until 8 a.m. Friday morning for people to get out of the wind and cold.
Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the Quinte region as temperatures are expected to hit minus 22 and feel like minus 31 with the windchill.
The church at the corner of Victoria Avenue and Pinnacle Street will be open again Friday night.
People are reminded beds and meals are not provided.
City officials remind residents to check on those living alone as well.
