Tyendinaga Mohawk protesters remained camped out near CN rail tracks at Wyman Road early this morning (Wednesday) as passenger and freight train traffic remains blocked between Toronto and Montreal and Ottawa and Toronto.
A handful of OPP vehicles could be seen in an area not far north of the tracks along County Road 2. The protesters were served a court injunction ordering them to dismantle the blockade yesterday.
The protesters say they’ve put up the blockade in solidarity with opponents of the Coastal GasLink pipeline project that crosses the traditional territory of the Wet’suwet’en First Nation in northwestern British Columbia.
Via Rail says all passenger train service has been cancelled until at least late day tomorrow (Thursday).
