Quinte West city council will be taking its first look at a proposed operating budget for this year on Monday.
Staff is proposing a budget that would increase local taxes on a residential property by 1.93%.
If council passed the budget as presented that would mean someone owning a house worth $254,000 would pay around $60 a year more in local taxes.
The proposed budget also includes money to hire four more people, one in the planning department and three in public works.
