Another arrest has been made in connection with an alleged home invasion robbery in Deseronto last month.
OPP were called just before 9:00 p.m. on January 17, when a caller reported a masked person was trying to get into their apartment and when they couldn’t, the suspect fired a gun at the door before leaving the scene.
Twenty-six-year-old Dylan Nelson was arrested by Kingston Police on January 22 and police have executed two search warrants on February 4 in connection to the investigation.
During those searches, officers seized a number of drugs and other items, including the gun believed to have been used in the original incident.
As a result, 23-year-old Damien Shelley-Gaston of Deseronto has been charged with a number of gun- and drug-related charges, including:
- Careless storage of a firearm;
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm;
- Having knowledge of the unauthorized possession of a firearm by another person;
- Failing to comply with a recognizance, all contrary to the Criminal Code; and
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Shelley-Gaston is scheduled for a bail hearing tomorrow (Friday) and police say more charges are pending, as the investigation continues.
