A Collingwood man is facing numerous charges after an incident in Brighton on Monday night.
Northumberland OPP were called after a man allegedly threatened to burn down a a local business and after getting a description of the suspect, they tracked him down on Elizabeth Street.
Police say the man refused to speak to officers and became aggressive with them, which led to a physical confrontation as the man was taken into custody.
While none of the officers was hurt, the suspect was taken to hospital to address any injuries he may have sustained during the arrest and investigators say while there, he continued to threaten and assault officers there.
As a result, 60-year-old Robert Morrison has been charged with two counts of assaulting a peace officer, four counts of uttering threats and one count each of obstructing police and causing a disturbance.
He was held for a Tuesday bail hearing in Cobourg Court.
