Contract talks are back on between the Ontario government and the union representing the province’s elementary school teachers.
A government-appointed mediator has called the two sides back to the table, and they’ll meet today for the first time in more than a month.
Should the negotiations fail, elementary school teachers will increase the number of one day walkouts to be held next week.
Elementary teachers working for the Hastings Prince Edward school board will stage walkouts Tuesday and Thursday while those employed by the Kawartha Pine Ridge board will be off the job Wednesday and Thursday.
All local english Catholic teachers, both elementary and secondary, will stage a one day walkout Tuesday.
