On January 25, 2020 at approximately 4:29 p.m, officers from the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 17 in Hallowell Ward. Police responded with Hastings Quinte EMS and Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue to a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a propane truck. As a result of the collision, one party was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The investigation is continuing and County Road 17 remains closed between County Road 8 and Lucks Crossroad.
