Lower Trent Conservation says a flood outlook statement has been issued for the Lower Trent Watershed region.
The conservation authority says stream flows and levels across the watershed are average to slightly elevated thanks to recent snow melt.
The weather system set to move into the region over the weekend has the potential to bring between 25 and 45 mm of precipitation with the bulk of that coming late Friday night into Saturday night.
People are advised that waterways fed by rainfall on partially frozen ground and snow melt can become extremely unpredictable and hazardous.
