DRIVER CHARGED WITH DRUG AND WEAPON OFFENCES
OPP have charged an Ajax man after a month-long investigation led to the seizure of drugs and a loaded hand gun.
The investigation ended with a traffic stop in the Peterborough area where police found heroin, cocaine, fentanyl and the gun, along with Canadian cash, cell phones and laptops.
The amount of drugs carry a street value of about $15,000.
Twenty-five-year-old Kirkland Williams of Ajax is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking-heroin
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-fentanyl
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-cocaine
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of weapon
- Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm/ammunition
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
- Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
- Fail to comply with recognizance
Williams is scheduled to appear in Peterborough court today.
