The City of Quinte West’s Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee is recommending council continue providing some financial support to what it sees as important community events.
The committee supported a sponsorship of $20,000 for a big Fishing League Worldwide Bass Fishing qualifier in August.
It also hopes council will provide a $15,000 grant and $5,000 worth of services to the Trenton Scottish Irish Festival which is held in early September each year.
The committee recomends $12,000 for the Quinte Ribfest along with $8,000 in city services to support the event.
And finally it recommended $15,000 for the Quinte Canadian Film Fest held in October.
