Bail violations
On January 19, 2020 at 6:24 a.m., city police were called to a Dundas Street East residence for a well-being check on a person. A caller to police reported that there was a male at the location who was on conditions not to communicate with named individuals, or be within 300 meters of where the people resided. The man was located in a bedroom within the home, attempting to evade police. He was arrested without incident. Police were able to confirm the man was on strict conditions from the Province of Quebec not to communicate or be within certain distances of the named individuals. These conditions were from an outstanding charge of assault with a weapon in December of 2019. Brandon Ferguson-Richards, 23 years of age of Montreal, was taken into custody and placed before a Justice of the Peace on two counts of failing to comply with judicial release orders, and two counts of failing to comply with probation orders. He was ordered remanded back into custody to face a bail hearing slated for January 20 at Belleville’s Ontario Court of Justice.
