The Belleville Senators picked up a point Wednesday night but fell 3-2 in overtime to the Manitoba Moose.
Overall it was a pretty successful stop in Winnipeg, picking up three of a possible four points. Belleville is tied for first in the North Division with Utica.
Sens head coach Troy Mann says his team just ran out of gas in the end.
Josh Norris scored his 21st goal of the season on a first period power play.
Logan Brown and Alex Formenton drew the assists. Joseph LaBate scored Belleville’s only other goal in the second period to tie things up at two. In overtime, Michael Spacek netted the winner for the Moose.
Filip Gustavsson was solid in goal for Belleville making 34 saves on 37 shots.
The Senators are now tied with the Comets for first place in the American Hockey League’s North Division with 50 points each in 40 games played.
Mann says he is looking forward to getting his players some rest in the next couple of days.
