On January 14, 2020 at 1:30 a.m., Belleville Police arrested a Tweed man on an outstanding warrant for a theft that occurred in November 2019 at a north end department store in the city of Belleville.
On the offence date, an adult male suspect who was already under trespass orders not to be in the department store managed to remove over $500 worth of merchandise without paying for it.
The suspect was confronted by store security in the parking lot after which the suspect discarded the stolen items and fled the scene in a vehicle. Through a police investigation, the suspect was positively identified as 43-year-old, Jeremy Henry of Tweed.
The accused was subsequently released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear at the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice on February 6 to answer to the charge of theft under $5000.
