BELOW IS THE ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE CITY OF QUINTE WEST
After 6 years as CAO and a 34 year career with the municipality, Charlie Murphy has announced that he will be retiring. Murphy started with the City of Trenton in 1986 as assistant planner and was hired full time in 1987 as a City Planner. He was Director of Planning and Development Services for Quinte West prior to his appointment to the CAO position. His last day with the municipality will be July 17, 2020.
“I’ve been fortunate to have worked with many outstanding staff members and elected officials throughout the years who were committed to the City and our residents,” said Murphy. “I look forward to hearing about their continued growth and success in the future.”
Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison had nothing but good things to say about Murphy: “Quinte West is in the strong position we are today in thanks to Charlie’s leadership, dedication and hard work. It’s been a pleasure to work with him both as Mayor and Councillor. I want to thank Charlie for his commitment to public service and wish him all the best as he embarks on this next chapter. While he will be missed, I’m confident that our City is in good hands and prepared for the future,” says Mayor Harrison.
Mayor Harrison says efforts to recruit a new Chief Administrative Officer will begin shortly.
