Winter came in like a lion in the Quinte area, but certainly went out like a lamb.
An official at the C-F-B Trenton weather office says 173 centimetres of snow fell between November, when the first storm hit, and the end of January.
However, there was only 12 centimetres in February, the fourth lowest snowfall on record for that month, and only half a centimetre in March, for a winter total of 185.
The official says it was a whiter winter in 2007-08, with 270 centimetres of snow measured at the weather office, 85 more than this year.
