The provincial consultation process regarding possible cuts to public health and emergency services is aimed at getting ideas on “modernizing” the services according to the advisor on the process.
Hastings County CAO Jim Pine who is acting as an advisor for the Ministry of Health tells Quinte News the process is going well.
Pine says people in the system are talking about the issues as consultation meetings continue throughout the province.
Pine indicates he is “quite direct” in his advice at these sessions.
There will not be a lengthy final report since he’s giving advice as the process continues.
Pine and Minister of Health Christine Elliott will be giving a presentation at the Rural Municipalities of Ontario conference in Toronto later this month.
