The Belleville Senators have lost another key cog in their offence.
Winger Rudolfs Balcers has been recalled to the NHL by the Ottawa Senators. Balcers was expected to join Ottawa at the beginning of the season but a long-term lower body injury kept him off the ice until November 10th when he joined Belleville.
Balcers had points in his first 15 games to establish a B-Sens record. He finished with 8 goals and 24 points in 19 games.
Balcers was a key part of the trade that sent defenceman Erik Karlsson to the San Jose Sharks.
In a corresponding move Ottawa reassigns centre J.C. Beaudin back to Belleville.
The B-Sens are home to the AHL North Division leading Rochester Americans (Buffalo Sabres) tomorrow (Fri) night and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers) on Saturday.
