December was basically an average month when it comes to weather in the Quinte region.
According to Environment Canada and readings taken at CFB Trenton, the average high temperature last month was plus 1.6 degrees celsius, just slightly warmer than the historical average for the month.
The average low temperature this past December was minus 7.3 degrees, just about matching the historical average.
However, last month was a little wetter than is usual for a December. We received just over 64 millimetres of rain and 32.4 centimetres of snow while the usual amounts are just over 50 mm of rain and 36.5 cm of snow.
The highest temperature last month was close to plus 10 while the coldest temperature was minus 20.
