Belleville Police Service Chaplain, Padre Brad Beale and the Wardens of the St. Thomas Anglican Church in Belleville presented Chief Ron Gignac with a cheque for $1,610.64 bound for Wounded Warriors Canada.
Padre Beale, the members of St. Thomas Anglican Church, and the Church volunteer community, raised the money though fundraising initiates over the past few months. These funds will go towards funding the many programs and initiatives that Wounded Warriors Canada offer. In particular, these funds help Belleville Police members and other local Emergency Services workers with course attendance, well being training and recovery programs.
Wounded Warriors Canada combines gateway programming, clinical support, research, and mental health promotion to help transform the lives of uniformed service personnel and their families affected by operational stress injuries. Taken together, they have created an innovative approach to mental health that uses clinical best practices and evidence-informed care to create an environment of compassion, resiliency and hope for our veterans, first respondents and their families.
