The Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service between December 29, 2019 at 5 a.m. and December 30, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Domestic Assault
On December 29, 2019 at 8:52 a.m., police attended on Russell Place regarding a complaint of domestic assault. The male party had fled prior to police arrival. The 27-year-old Belleville man was located a short time later and arrested. He was charged with two counts of assault, threats and breach of probation. He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing on December 30, 2019. The victim received minor injuries.
Traffic Enforcement
On December 29, 2019, at 8:45 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Tracey Street. The investigation revealed that the 18-year-old driver was a suspended driver. He will appear in Traffic Court on February 3, 2020 on a charge of driving while under suspension.
