The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has made its second instalment of a planned $1 million donation to the hospital foundation.
Auxiliary representatives presented the foundation with a cheque for $250,000 toward the Back the Build campaign, just in time for the holidays.
The group has now put a total of $350,000 toward the new hospital build, with money raised through various events and initiatives like the Second Time Around Shop, Coffee Cart and other community events.
While the province will cover 90% of construction costs for the $80 million build, the community will need to cover the other 10%, which comes out to about $16.5 million, plus the cost of equipment.
