The Belleville Kinettes donated $10,000 to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation. The money will be used to purchase new ophthalmoscopes and otoscopes for the Paediatrics Department at Belleville General Hospital.
Every child on the paediatric floor has their eyes and ears examined and the majority of those patients are admitted with infectious diseases. Having the proper equipment at every bedside will reduce the risk of transmission between patients.
Anne Kaehler is a lifetime member of the Kinettes. Kaehler says “The Kin mandate is serving the community’s greatest needs. We are a small but powerful team of 8 Kinettes. We are so happy to be able to provide this equipment for Belleville General Hospital and their littlest patients.” The money was raised through the sale of Nevada Break Open Tickets. Pine Street Variety has been helping the Kinettes with the sale of those tickets for more than 20 years.
