A 33-year-old Royal Canadian Air Force aviator has been identified as the victim who was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that closed the 401 in Kingston over the weekend.
According to a press release from 14 Wing Greenwood in Nova Scotia, Matthew Jamieson was identified as one of the many who were injured in the collision which involved 30 to 40 vehicles and closed the highway for over 10 hours.
Jamieson was based out of 144 Construction Engineering Flight in Pictou, Nova Scotia but was away at CFB Borden on a trade qualification course.
According to the RCAF, Jamieson graduated from a Regular Force Basic Military Qualification Course in August of 2018 and at the course graduation ceremony, received the ‘Top Candidate’ award.
