The City of Belleville has gone over budget on their usage of the integrity commissioner.
This past March, the municipality approved a budget of $25,000 for Integrity Commissioner Services, from Cunningham, Swan, Carty, Little and Bonham LLP.
So far, they have spent just under $36,000, more than 43 percent over budget.
About $26,000 of that is for a complaint, about $5,000 for opinions, and another $5,100 for review of the Code of Conduct and other forms.
At Monday’s City Council meeting, management is recommending council accept the costs to date for information purposes.
The meeting begins at 4:00 p.m. at Belleville City Hall.
