It was all smiles at Leon’s Superstore Trenton on Monday morning, after the most recent announcement of funds for the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation Buy-A-Bed Campaign.
Leon’s Owner Mike Eden, who began the project three years ago, announced nearly $35,000, which will go to buy more than four beds for Trenton Memorial Hospital. Since it was started, Leon’s has purchased 13 beds for TMH.
The fundraiser has brought in more than $111,000 to date.
With every mattress purchase at Leon’s store, of more than $299, $25 went to the project, along with numerous donations the store received from visitors and customers.
Phil Wild is the former TMHF Board Chair and current Vice-Chair. He says its been great for Leon’s to bring the cause to a retail outlet.
Board Chair Darryl Smith tells Quinte News the Buy-A-Bed campaign has inspired other groups, businesses, and individuals.
