Jane Forrester Park on Belleville’s waterfront will be the place to be tomorrow (Friday) night.
The Belleville Festival of Lights display will launch Christmas celebrations in the city and it’s going to be a very special event.
This year marks the 60th anniversary since a modest lighting display was created by Don and Rita Foster at their home in honour of their son Billy Foster and his best friend Art “Sonny” Culloden who died in a holiday season crash in 1958.
At tomorrow’s Lighting Ceremony Launch, there’s music by DJ Scotty Lalonde, live music from CJBQ’s Freddy Vette, and a big fireworks show.
The Canadian Armed Forces will also delight the crowd with two Flyby passes performed in a CC130 Hercules flown by Captain Greg Heffren and members of 424 Squadron.
Everything starts at 5 p.m. with the official ceremony beginning at 6 and the fireworks display at 7:30.
