A major accident on the eastbound 401 has the highway in our region shut down even further.
A multi-vehicle accident occurred at 4 p.m. when a vehicle hit the back of a stopped tractor trailer, causing a chain reaction involving three other vehicles.
The 401 was closed at Hwy. 33.
Fire Chief John Whalen says three patients were transported to Kingston General and one was taken to Belleville.
