The Belleville Police Service responded to 64 calls between November 6, 2019 at 5 a.m. and November 7, 2019 at 5 a.m.
Assault with a weapon
On November 6, 2019 at approximately 7 a.m., officers attended a residence in the city’s west end to investigate an altercation between two roommates. As a result of the investigation a 28-year-old Belleville man was arrested for assault with a weapon and uttering threats, and was held for a bail hearing. The victim received minor injuries.
Arrests on warrants
On November 6, 2019 at 10:31 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the city’s west end. Officers located the vehicle and further investigation revealed that two of the occupants were wanted on outstanding warrants.
A 35-year-old male from Owen Sound was arrested on an outstanding warrant for uttering threats and was later released on a promise to appear with a court date of November 18. He was further charged with driving while under suspension. A 44-year-old Wellington man was arrested on outstanding warrants for failing to attend court. He was also found to be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and was further charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and was held for a bail hearing.
