The fire chief in Quinte West says a fire at a duplex on Bay Street in Trenton this morning has been deemed to be accidental.
Chief John Whelan tells Quinte News, the blaze, which had crews responding around 6:45 a.m., began in the kitchen.
The fire caused about $80,000 to $100,000 damage and two teens were treated for smoke inhalation, while the family’s pet cat was killed in the blaze.
There was some smoke damage to the other unit as well.
