Assault police
On October 30,2019 at 4:20 p.m., Belleville Police attended an east end apartment building regarding a call to stand by to keep the peace while property was to be picked up. During the stand-by. a 39-year-old Belleville male involved in the call for service became extremely disruptive and aggressive eventually having to be arrested. During the arrest the male assaulted one of the police officers and attempted to disarm him of his firearm. The police officer suffered minor injuries in the altercation that did not require medical attention. The male was transported to The Belleville Police Service where he is being held for a bail hearing on October 31 at 1:00 p.m. Charges include assaulting a police officer, assault with intent to resist arrest and attempting to disarm a police officer.
Arrest on warrants
On October 30, 2019 at 9:40 p.m., as a result of a traffic stop, police arrested a 19-year-old Belleville male on outstanding arrest warrants. Kyle Morris was transported to The Belleville Police Service where he was later released on a promise to appear on charges of theft under $5000 and failing to attend court. Morris was given a court date of November 21 to answer to the charges.
Shoplifters
On October 30, 2019 shortly after 10:00 p.m., police were called to a north end retail store with regards to two females who were seen on camera shoplifting on October 28 and who appeared to be in the process of shoplifting again. Shortly after police arrival, two Kingston females were arrested. Forty-one–year-old Kelly Calbury was released on scene on an appearance notice charged with three counts of theft under $5000 and given a court date of November 21. The second female was taken to The Belleville Police Service and is being held for a bail hearing on October 31. Her charges include one count of theft under $5000 and one count of breaching a recognizance in relation to her curfew.
