The Ontario Medical Association is “revving up” its campaign to fight anti-vaccine myths.
Association president Dr. Sohail Gandhi will address a special session in Kingston on Tuesday, discussing what the World Health Organization calls one of the top ten global health threats – “vaccine hesitancy.”
That is, people who do not take vaccinations, or who are commonly known as “anti-vaxxers.”
Also on the agenda, Dr. Ethan Toumishey of Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox and Addington Public Health, and Hastings Prince Edward Medical Officer of Health Dr. Peter Oglaza.
They will discuss the importance of vaccinations, current vaccination rates in the region, and the Medical Association’s new campaign to target the spread of anti-vaccine myths.
