The Belleville Senators lost 5-3 last night in Springfield against the Thunderbirds.
The B-Sens jumped out to an early first period lead on goals from Christian Jaros and Jordan Szwarz.
The Thunderbirds responded in the second period with three goals in 4:40 to take the lead.
The Sens showed some fight with a power-play goal later in the second frame by Morgan Klimchuk, but in the third period Jonathan Ang scored the eventual winner to propel the Thunderbirds past the B-Sens.
Sens forward Joseph LaBate says his team did a lot of good things last night.
Marcus Hogberg was in net for the Sens making 28 saves on 32 shots for the loss.
Philippe Desrosiers made 30 saves on 33 shots in net for the Thunderbirds. LaBate adds that the team couldn’t make the most of their chances.
