Centre Hastings council will soon update its welcome to Madoc signs at the north and south entrances to the village.
The old ones are very weather-worn and an Ontario government program will pay the ten to twelve thousand dollar cost of the signs.
The public is being asked to help choose a design for new signs at a town hall meeting November 7 at 7 p.m. at the Arts Centre in Madoc.
At the meeting, council will present a handful of design options and ask for the public’s opinion.
In order to receive provincial funding to pay for them the signs will have to be installed by early in the new year.
