Two Hastings-Quinte paramedics have received provincial recognition for going above and beyond.
On Tuesday night, Roger Littwiller and Dave Valdes received the Ontario Award for Paramedic Bravery from Deputy Premier and Minister of Health Christine Elliott at Queen’s Park.
In 2017, the duo responded to a fall alert and when they arrived, found a home filled with smoke and an active fire.
The fire department was called and Littwiller and Valdes entered the home to find and help the unconscious man get out of the home.
There were 13 paramedics honoured for their exceptional acts of courage, on the job or off duty.
Since 2015, 60 paramedics have received the Ontario Award for Paramedic Bravery.
