An O-P-P official hopes Brighton will become the first detachment in Northumberland County to accept civilian data entry.
Council was told last night using the program would free up 25 per cent more officers’ time, so they could be more visible in the community.
The cost to Brighton taxpayers would be about 37-thousand dollars a year, plus a one-time startup cost of 61-hundred dollars if all Northumberland municipalities agree to take part.
