The ink isn’t even dry on the new O-P-P contract proposal for Brighton, and another increase has been added.
Council and the Police Board were told last night thirty-six-thousand dollars will be tacked onto the 2009 policing contract because of new salaries recently ratified for uniformed officers and civilians.
That is on top of the original 167-thousand-dollar increase over 2008 presented to council on February ninth, pushing the total contract to 1.64-million dollars.
Mayor Chris Herrington and Councillors Mike Vandertoorn and Brian Ostrander expressed concern about the increased costs.
