The Prince Edward County Fire Department has completed its investigation into a major fire that destroyed two houses, one garage and a vehicle early yesterday morning in the hamlet of Ameliasburgh.
Deputy Fire Chief Robert Rutter says the cause is undetermined, adding that the fire started in the garage of one of the houses.
Over 30 firefighters from five fire halls responded just after 5 o’clock yesterday (Wednesday) morning to find the houses and garage fully engulfed in flames.
There were no injuries.
Damage is estimated at $700,000.
