Tyendinaga Township and Tyendinaga Mohawk fire departments took the test and passed it yesterday.
The departments underwent testing by Fire Protection Survey Services on whether they could bring enough water to a fire scene using sources other than a municipal fire hydrant.
They proved they could and have received formal accreditation which can lead to lower fire insurance rates for residents in those communities.
