The Butterfly Girls are hoping Belleville council will support their plan to have a sculpture installed along the Waterfront Trail in the city.
The Butterfly Girls, Barb Matteucci, Loralee McInroy, and Beth Primeau, have inspired the public to raise over $340,000 in the past few years to provide counselling and materials to help families who are grieving over the loss of an infant or a loss during pregnancy.
It’s proposed the sculpture be a flat 5 feet by 15 feet and be a mural of butterflies made from metal.
The Butterfly Girls would cover the cost of the sculpture.
Meanwhile, Belleville council will decide on the route for the Santa Claus parade at its meeting Tuesday.
