Picton Home Hardware continues to Back the Build for the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.
Home Hardware owners, Adam and Chrissy Busscher presented $5,000 to Hospital Foundation representatives on October 4.
These funds were raised at Home Hardware’s electronics recycling events held over the spring and summer.
Picton Home Hardware has now given $14,305 toward the Back the Build Campaign and their overall giving total to the PECMH Foundation since 2010 is $41,226.
“We are very proud to be part of this community that supports our County Hospital. Our hospital provides outstanding care to so many in our community. When illness strikes, we need effective health care and we want to ensure the latest technical and diagnostic services are available in Prince Edward County now and for years to come. It’s comforting to know that a great hospital with fine facilities is available, close to home,” said Adam Busscher, owner of Picton Home Hardware.
“Home Hardware’s gift helps get us closer to our goal – a new hospital,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital redevelopment project is moving along and the PECM Hospital Foundation team continues to seek support from the public as we approach Stage 3. We are proud of Picton Home Hardware’s efforts to help us Back the Build. They were the first business to publicly commit to raising funds for the redevelopment of our hospital and have proven themselves to be true philanthropic leaders in our community. We are so grateful to have the Busscher family and Home Hardware’s dedicated and loyal staff supporting our hospital,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation.
The PECMH Foundation’s Back the Build campaign aims to raise $16.5M for the new hospital over the next five years. To date, the Foundation has raised $11.2 million of its $16.5 million fundraising goal, which is an outstanding testament to the community and municipal support received so far.
The next electronics recycling collection will take place at Picton Home Hardware on Sat. Oct. 12 and Sun. Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in their parking lot. Proceeds will support the Back the Build campaign.
