On Sunday September 29, 2019 Prince Edward Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a personal injury collision on County Road 4 in Hallowell Ward.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. OPP officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 4 and May Road in Hallowell Ward where a car had gone off the road and struck a Hydro pole. Hastings Quinte Emergency Medical Services (EMS) also responded and transported the driver to hospital. The driver was given breath tests at the hospital and was subsequently arrested. He was transported to OPP detachment once released from medical treatment.
Vincent Gordon GOYETCHE, 30 from Prince Edward County, Ontario has been charged with one count each of two Criminal Code Offences:
- Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs – Section 320.14(1)(a)
- Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) – Section 320.14(1)(b)
The accused was released from custody to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday October 16, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. in Picton. He also received a 90 day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the demolished vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
